Making Adjustments

In this season of my life, the Holy Spirit has simply stated let go. This season has been a long one and we are not the ones who get to determine “what the directives are” or “how long a season lasts.” He simply wants me to simplify. I am sure you can relate to that.

JUST LET GO!

In the past year plus, I have “let go” of the EN Alliance, EN Community, commissioning of leaders, let go of all staff buildings, released Compassion Acts to Mark Roye to be its own ministry, sold my family farm, lighting my writing and publishing load, and many other things. Even my last kid got married and moved out!

So the Lord is helping me to go lighter and unburden myself. I continue to work on Health Adjustments and have progress that still needs made in that area. These things are all necessary for me to get repositioned before the Lord for whatever is next in life and ministry. Now “letting go” does not mean I am retiring or quitting – just empowering others and letting some things fall like a seed into the ground.

COMMUNICATIONS APPROACH

This will be my last posting on my blog for this period of time. Perhaps down the road I will do a Blog connected with Prayer Storm or On the Road with James W. Goll. But that time is not now.  Right now I am letting go of some of my social networking tools and going to major on the ones that are presently fruitful.

If you want to receive my weekly FREE MP3 messages and my teachings on prayer, the presence of God and revelatory things, then please go to my main web site at www.encountersnetwork.com and sign up in the upper right hand corner. I will continue my twitter account and my facebook fan page.

I will also maintain a presence on You Tube and God Tube while letting some of my other social networking outlets go for now. Please visit my FREE resource section of my web site under the Communications Tab for EN Media. There are scores of free audio and video messages there on demand. I also carry a presence on XP Media and other sources.  But this will be my last BLOG for this period of time.

I hope you will sign up for my Free messages at www.encountersnetwork.com and www.prayerstorm.com as well. Also remember my new online school at www.GETeSchool.com. It is a great tool for mentoring!

Thanks for hanging in there with me!

God Bless Each of You!

HOW THE HOLY SPIRIT MOVES

How the Holy Spirit Moves

By James W. Goll

PRIMARY VERSE:
Genesis 1:2 - And the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.

NEGATIVE RESPONSES TO THE HOLY SPIRIT
We are not just to be open to the Holy Spirit, but we are to passionately pursue Him. But there are several warnings given to us in scriptures of attitudes and actions to avoid in our relationship with and to the Holy Spirit.

         A.     Do Not Neglect or Ignorant
Paul uses the word ignorant thirteen times in the epistles.
I Cor.12:1 - Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be                            ignorant. NIV

         B.      Do Not Grieve
Eph. 4:29-31 - Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your                                     mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of                                     redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

         C.     Do Not Quench
                  I Thess. 5:19 - Do not put out the Spirit's fire;

         D.     Do Not Blaspheme
Mt. 12:31-33 - And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.  Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. "Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.

         E.     Do Not Insult
Heb. 10:29 - How much more severely do you think a man deserve to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?  When you insult someone, they remove their presence from you.

         F.     Do Not Tempt
Acts 5:9 - Peter said to her, "How could you agree to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also."

POSITIVE RESPONSES TO THE HOLY SPIRIT
Not only are there warnings listed in scripture, but there are positive responses specifically listed for us to obey.

         A.     Be Born of the Spirit
Jn. 3:3-8 - In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. " "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!" Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, `You must be born again.' The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." NIV

         B.     Receive and Be Baptized in the Spirit
Acts 1:8 - But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Mt. 3:11 - "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

         C.     Be Continuously Filled
Eph. 5:18 - Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

         D.     Know and See the Spirit
Jn. 14:16-18 - And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever-- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

         E.     Be Led By the Spirit
Rom. 8:14 - because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

         F.    Pray in the Spirit
I Cor. 14:14- For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.
Jude 20- But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.

         G.    Walk in the Spirit
Gal. 5:16 - So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

         H.    Hear the Spirit
Heb. 3:15 - As has just been said: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion."

A great definition of moving in the Holy Spirit is to so flow with the Lord as to not cast two shadows.

THREE THINGS TO DO WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

         A.     Honor Him as a Guest
Welcome Him on a first-name basis without over familiarity. Acknowledge Him as the third person of the Godhead, with His own distinct personality (Jn. 16:13).  Honor Him and desire His presence.

         B.    Seek Him
Ask for Him and seek to be equipped by Him (Lk. 7:7-11). He is more                            than “special guest”. He is our equipper. Ask the Father in Jesus name to be equipped by the Holy Spirit to do the ministry work.

         C.     Give Him Freedom and Liberty
Yield to Him (2 Cor. 3:17). When the Holy Spirit is Lord, there will be freedom for the people. Let the Holy Spirit be in control.

FIVE PRINCIPLES OF HOW THE HOLY SPIRIT ALWAYS MOVES
Read John 14:16-21 and John 16:5-15 before proceeding into the following points.

         A.     In and Through (by means of) the Written Scriptures
He never moves contrary to the Word of God. He compliments and does not compete with the Word of God.

         B.     In Agreement With the Father and the Son
There are never three wills in the Godhead. The Holy Spirit reveals the council of the Father and the Son.

         C.     Brings Jesus into a Greater Reality
The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus as a living reality, and brings us into a deeper relationship with Him.

         D.     A Life-Giving Source
He brings us into the life of the Lord Jesus.  He is interested in maturing our character, not just bringing us personal comfort.  He is interested in bringing us truth, not false assurance or consolation.  He woos, convicts, shepherds, and leads us to the life-source of God.

         E.     Moving the Believer to Be a Witness
He helps us overcome our fears and He stretches us outside of ourselves, bringing both maturity and fruit. He motivates us to testify
of the love and power of God.

PREPARATIONS TO FLOW IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

         A.     Avoid Hurrying or Rushing
Quiet yourself before the Lord, Avoid being like a stirred-up fish bowl and rest before His presence.
Ps. 130:5-6 - I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.  NIV

Ps. 131:2 - But I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.

         B.     Pray in the Spirit
Build yourself up, in your faith by praying in the gift of tongues. This will edify your faith and turn you into the Fathers heart. I Cor. 14:4.

         C.     Get Involved
Seek God for something to take when you attend a gathering. Purpose in your heart to get involved and don’t go just to receive.

         D.     God Wants to Use You!
Yes! God wants to use little ole me! Believe that the Lord wants to use me to impart to others.

         E.     It’s Only by GRACE!
As God for a revelation of Grace. That way all the glory goes to God to whom it all belongs.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

         A.     The Kingdom of God is in the Holy Spirit
Rom. 14:17- For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

         B.     Rivers of Living Water Shall Flow
Out of your innermost being shall flow rivers of living water. Pray for this to occur in your life. Jn. 7:38 - Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."

Father, I ask that out of my inner most being that streams of revelation, power and life would flow out of me. I stir up the gift of God within me. River of God flow out of me onto dry ground!     In Jesus Name!

PUSH THE RESTART BUTTON

Let’s Push the Restart Button!

As most of you know, I released 8 Clear Words recently in both written and audio form. Out of all the 8 points I personally relate the most to the third clear word on “It’s Time to Push the Restart Button.” It relates to me on a personal, ministerial, my city and according to your feedback, many other people’s live, hopes and dreams. So let’s take a look at this as it relates to EN•PS•CA.

 GET E-SCHOOL

We have a launch date for the long awaited God Encounters Network E-School of the Heart - where faith and life meet. So the count down is on. Beginning on April 1st you can sign up at wwwwGETeSchool.com to register. Sorry for the delay, but I promise you, it will be worth the wait. We will begin with 8 classes and add 2 approximately each month. It is all in digital and hard copy formats including new MP3 and MP4 formats!

 NETWORK PRAYER WARRIORS

Yes, it is time to PUSH the Restart Button for the Network Prayer Warriors who in the past have made up our Ministry Prayer Shield. We need you. In the past, you had to sign up for a specific day to participate. We have shifted it up and made it much more user friendly. In fact, in our fresh emphasis, you get to pick themes that you want to especially carry. So sign up today and you will also be an “honorary Prayer Storm partner” and thus receive the monthly Prayer Storm mailing and MP3. Click here to sign up now to be a Network Prayer Warrior.

COMPASSION ACTS

Mark Roye and Team will be leading another team to Cambodia to build the third Compassion Acts’ Dreamers Park. We need to raise an additional $1o,000 to complete the project, so visit www.compassionacts.com. Potential team members may still apply at compassionacts@gmail.com. This summer we will spin CA out as it’s own ministry. So watch the monthly e-blasts for forth coming information. It is multiplication time!

 GIDEON’S 300 and BEYOND!

We have never faced the deficits that we are at this point and time in the combined ministries of EN•PS•CA. Watch the personal video where I tell you a dream I had this week. The Holy Spirit is issuing a call to 300 New Gideon Partners who give $1 a day, 100 to give $100 a month, and 10 to give a one-time gift of $1,000. We need your assistance right now as much or more than we did when I went thru the 8 years of cancer treatment. It is time to PUSH the Restart Button.

Will you help us do it? Help us push the restart button! Let’s agree together and see Prayer Storm continue to reach out monthly to over 75 nations, CA grow in its sphere of influence and help EN so I can have underwriting to continue my teaching, book writing and being one of your ambassadors to the nations!

 With Expectation!

8 Clear Words for the New Year

As I sought the Lord for a Word for the New Year, I did not repeat of 12 scriptures for 2012 or something of that nature. This year He has given me principles that are all solidly scripturally based and will not fail. So here are 8 Clear Words for the New Year and Beyond!

1)   The Door of the Harvest Is Open
I was given an encounter this past fall at the time of the New Hebrew year of 5773, where a door was opened and a wind blew thru. It startled me. I turned towards the door and I asked, “What is this?” The Holy Spirit replied, “The door of the Harvest is now open.” (I am not declaring this is the door to the Great Harvest but rather another time or season in the Lord of a Harvest of souls coming in.) Believe the Lord for divine appointments and pray to the Lord of the Harvest to thrust forth laborers into the field of Harvest. It is harvest time!

Matthew 9:38 – “Therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”

Joel 3:13 – “Put in the sickle for the harvest is ripe!”

2)   Walk into the Kingdom of Peace
While some are releasing atmospheres of fear and turbulence, it is time for us to walk in an opposite spirit and receive and release the Kingdom of Peace. Create an atmosphere around you and declare shalom to your storms! Do not panic! Walk in the release supernatural peace everywhere you go!

Romans 14:17 – “The Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

3)   Push the Restart Button
I have a major message of hope for many of you! Some of you feel like your season of promise has passed you by, your family by or your city or nation. The answer is NO! Our God is a God of a 50 millionth chance! Things tend to go in seasons and cycles. The Holy Spirit is saying, “Push the restart button!” Yes, look over those old promises that have not yet been fulfilled and let your heart beat again! You can rise up again because the resurrected one lives inside of you! Push the restart button on your promises and assignments in the Lord.

Proverbs 24:16 – “For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again.”

4)   Come Again Holy Spirit!
This is one of my most major words I have released in my lifetime. The Holy Spirit comes in waves and movements. But it is time to welcome Him freshly again. Cry out to the Lord, “Come Again Holy Spirit” and watch and see His jealousy come into play. He will come! (Please read my articles released previously on The Start of the Third Wave and Come Again Holy Spirit.) We welcome another crashing wave of the Holy Spirit!

Joel 2:28, 29 – “It will come to pass after this that I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days!”

5)   Create A Culture of Risk
One point builds upon another! In welcoming the Third Person of the Godhead freshly, you can only truly do it by creating a Culture of RISK! This is an atmosphere where grace and faith abounds and where all things are possible. Let faith arise and see new things come. Don’t say, “I have been there and done that! Never! Say – “I want more hunger! I want more of God! I am going to step out again on the limb of R-I-S-K!” Have faith like a grain of mustard seed and do something with it. It is a voice activated Kingdom!

Luke 17:6 – “And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you.”

6)   Fresh Presence Based Worship Movement
In creating a culture of RISK and welcoming the Holy Spirit in a fresh manner, realize one of the major ways things He is emphasizing all over again is making room for a Fresh Presence Based Worship Movement! Set evenings aside for presence filled worship and praise. Watch what He will do! He sits in the praises of His people! The places where God is hovering and brooding are those places allowing the Fresh Presence Worship Movement to be released.

Psalm 22:27 – “All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will worship before You.”

Revelation 22:17 – “The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.”

7)   A Shift to a Glorious Eschatology
I think the Holy Spirit has been working within me for years concerning this declaration. In fact, it is not just a victorious world End Time view – it is greater and more centered on God than that! It is about Glorious Eschatology. I remember years ago Bob Mumford declared in Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium, “I Looked at the back of the book and guess what? We Win!” Thunderous applause broke upon the scene! Well, I something to declare building on that infamous proclaimation, “I have read from Genesis thru Revelation and guess what? Tribulation is not the final word! God has a Glorious Eschatology as the end of the matter!” I think I am about to get very excited about this shift!

Isaiah 60: 1-3 – “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but the Lord will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”

8)   Speak to Your Mountain!
Now we combine all the previous seven words together and we bring applications to them as our 8th point of new beginning. Speak to your mountain. (Please listen is the MP3 attached to this communication. I just released this word in a targeted manner!) Yes, speak to your family mountain! Speak to your mountain of opposition and loss! In fact, release shouts of “Grace! Grace! Grace it it!” To every mountain of opposition release the revelation of GRACE! Speak to your mountain to be removed and cast into the sea. Join me in speaking and shouting GRACE to the mountains that stand in the way of God’s eternal purposes in Jesus Name!

Mark 11:23 – “Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be taken up and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believers that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.”

Zechariah 4:6,7 – “Then He said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel saying, ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of Hosts. What are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain; and he will bring forth the top stone with shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”

It is a time when spiritual bravery is needed. I call you on a journey with me to believe the Best is Yet to Come!

Blessings in Christ Jesus!

Praying Down Supernatural Encounters

I. MINISTRY AT THE ALTAR OF INCENSE

     A. Luke 1:8-11
  1. Now it came about while he was performing his priestly service before God in the appointed order of his division, according to the custom of the priestly office, he was chosen by lot to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense. And the whole multitude of the people were in prayer outside at the hour of the incense offering. And the angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the altar of incense.
     B. The Order of Progression
  1.  Zachariah was chosen to minister to the Lord.
  2.  The people all responded as they were in prayer at the “hour of incense”.
  3. Zechariah is now ministering at the altar of incense (prayer).
  4. What went up (incense-prayer) was cast back down to earth in the form of a visitation. (That which goes up must come down!)
  5. Angelic activity is released.
  6. A proclamation of healing is made.
  7. Zechariah goes home and Elizabeth is healed and bares a son, a prophet named John the Baptist.
II. FROM THE LIFE OF JOHN G. LAKE
We need to see another powerful healing movement occur like that of John G. Lake. He moved in great power and was used to great affect. South Africa and much of the north west part of the United States. The following are newspaper articles from the Spokane, Washington secular newspaper in 1924 of a healing parade led by Reverend Lake.

     A. Thursday, August 7, 1924
     HEALED BY GOD PARADE STREETS
  1. Expect 250 members of the Church Elect to enter in what they hope will be an impressive testimony to the power of God to heal; about 250 persons who claim to have been healed of their diseases through prayer, will parade on the downtown streets Saturday afternoon, August 16, at 3:00 o’clock. A permit for the use of 50 automobiles, and a band, to parade at that time has been issued to Dr., John G. Lake, head of the Church Elect, by the city council. In speaking of the parade today, Lake said: “We believe in testifying to the power of God at every opportunity. It is not possible to get the message we have to teach before every one. We believe that when the citizens of Spokane see this group of persons, many of them once at death’s door with incurable diseases, that it will be a forceful and unforgettable testimony that God does heal.
  2. The regular Thursday night healing meeting will be held in the tents at Ash and Chelan at 8 o’clock.
     B. Monday, August 18, 1924
     HEALED BY GOD PARADE TOWN
  1. 50 auto carry 250 persons healed by Lake’s prayers. Thousands of Spokane persons witnessed the unique parade of “healed” persons from the “Church Elect,” when they rode through downtown streets in automobiles Saturday afternoon. About 50 automobiles Saturday were in line, more than 250 persons who claim to have been healed of all manner of diseases by the power of God were in the cars. The automobiles were placarded with signs which told of the diseases from which the occupants were cured.
  2. The cures effected by the prayers of Dr. John G. Lake according to the signs were: nervous prostration, pneumonia, diabetes, paralysis, tuberculosis, adenoids, shingles, flu, eczema, leakage of the heart, rheumatism, and broken arches.
  3. The feature of the parade was a delivery car containing more than a dozen children, and which bore the sign “born painlessly” on each side. The mothers of these children have no assistance in childbirth other than prayer, they declare. Dr. John G. Lake preceded by a band, led the parade. The cars traveled downtown streets for more than an hour.
  4. A fitting conclusion, it would seem to the series of meetings. Yes, there still were the skeptics in the community, but the ones who were healed by God, will never forget the occasion when the power of God healed them as they had the faith to believe for it.
          By Alan Wyatt

III. OUR RESPONSE

     A. Repentance Needed
  1. Some of us need to repent of our fear and prejudice against a “faith emphasis” while we need to be broken, authentic vessels, there is no substitute for bold faith. I invite you to join me in repenting of our “fear of faith” because of what we think it might look like, what others have made it look like, and our fear of what it really does look like! Faith is almost always spelled R-I-S-K!
     B. Let’s Minister At the Altar
  1. May the prayer movement continue to grow and there be a restoration of leaders and people of prayer as in the days of Zechariah. Priests (that’s you!) take your place. Minister at the altar of prayer. Let the time of the incense offering come forth.
     C. Expect!
  1. Let’s believe God to pour down supernatural encounters, healings and miracles as He has done in times past. Let’s expect an invasion of Holy Spirit activity in response to our prayer invitations!

The Miracle of Chanukah

This Festival in the Jewish calendar last 8 days and is always in December around this time of year. It is called the Feast of Dedications or sometimes referred to as the Festival of Lights. It started over 2,300 years ago in the land of Judea, modern day Israel.
During the 2nd century the oppressor was the Syrian King Antiochus IV Epiphanes (a forerunner of the Anti-Christ, foretold in Daniel 11:21) who attempted to force the Jewish people to assimilate into the Greek culture outlawing all Jewish religious observance. Eventually the Maccabees
defeated Anticochus’ armies and the Jewish people reclaimed their inheritance and restored their ways.
In December of 164 BC the Jewish fighters made their way back into Jerusalem and found their Holy Temple had been defiled and desecrated by the foreign armies. The enemy had defiled the Holy Temple by offering a sow (pig) on the altar and raising up in the Sanctuary a statue to Zeus.
As depicted in the First Book of Maccabees (a respected historical account of Jewish history found in the Apocrypha), a revolt was launched by the priest Mattathias and later led by his son Yehuda (Judas) Maccabee. Thus the work of cleansing the Temple of the pagan idols begun followed by a Rededication of the Temple of the Lord on the 25th Day of Kislev.

A Miracle within a Miracle

When it came time to light once again the Menorah, or Lampstand of the Lord in the Temple, there was only found one small jar of sacred oil for the burning of the fire in the Lampstand. Miraculously, the small jar of oil burned for eight days, until a new supply of oil arrived. It was viewed as an authentic miracle! From then on, Jewish people everywhere have observed this holiday for eight days and nights in honor of the historic victory and the miracle of the ever burning oil.

This is known as the miracle of Chanukah! This is the Festival of Lights which is now observed by the lighting of a special Chanukah menorah with eight branches (plus a servant candle), adding one new candle each night.

In the New Testament, you might recall the story of Jesus, Yeshua, when He was at the Temple for the celebration. "At that time the Feast of the Dedication took place at Jerusalem; it was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple in the portico of Solomon" (John 10:22-23).

I personally love celebrating Chanukah knowing that my Messiah Jesus honored the Jewish traditions during his physical time on earth! I have personally observed this Festival in my own home over many years. So why shouldn’t we?

Our Applications in Prayer

In our Global Prayer Storm this week, let’s remember Hanukkah and let’s call forth for the “light of the world” to shine in each of our homes. Let’s also call forth the multiplication of oil in our own lives. It is also a time to recall God’s miraculous provision in history past knowing we can rely on Him in our own lives, families, ministries and congregations for His unlimited supply today! So let’s observe the Feast of Lights as Jesus did and call forth His abundant supply for our needs today! Amen and Amen!

Humbly Submitted,

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from me to you this Holiday Season!

This past Saturday I had the privilege to be Santa for a few hours at the Nashville Rescue Mission for a Global Wide Event called, Help Portrait. The goal of this event was to first and formost love on the poor.  I believe God's heart was truly shown to all who attended. Not only was there Santa, but there were also make-up artists, hair dressers, photographers, musicians, and several other volunteers who gathered together to love and give to our community.

This holiday season I challenge you to think twice about "Christmas" and be Jesus to those around you. Ponder on the Beatitudes...

Matthew 5:3-12

He said:

3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
